Blog Rant 1: Who the Fuck is Robb Unfiltered (and why should you care)?

That is a damn good question. I'm Robb Crocker. I'm a recovering journalist. I loved the business, loved reporting, and loved the news cycle--I hated newsroom politics, being told what to do when I knew I was right, and, at the end of my career, hated being a middle manager.

I covered sports for a number of news organizations. Don't believe me? Fucking Google it. I'm not going to jot down my resume here.

Some have accused me of being a degree collector. I have two undergrads in journalism, a M.A. in communication, I'm one year shy of an English degree with a creative writing minor, and I'm applying for a PhD.

I'm currently teaching journalism related courses to college students and I have a passion for that.

Similarly, I have a passion for sports. And, I love to rant about what is wrong about sports. And, I love to rant about how my teams love to shit all over me. I've never physically had a Cincinnati Bow Tie or a Cleveland Steamroller (nor am I interested) but my favorite teams have done those awful horrid things to me psychologically every season for most of my life.

So, I'll talk sports on this podcast. Just like you and your new best friend you just met at the bar do. Unfiltered. It's like I always say. Sports. Life. Zero Fucks. That's basically what I'm all about. Every now and then, I talk music or pop culture--I love comic books and comic book movies and Star Wars.

You'll be able to find this podcast on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, SoundCloud, and TuneIn. All of my shows will be posted here on this website either via link of MP3. On the home page, you will find links to all of my social media, they will also carry links to the podcast.

I post when I want for as long as I want. Just like you would if you had a podcast.

Here's a summary I had to give to Apple about the podcast:

What happens when you give a microphone to some dude who really loves sports, strong opinions, and cursing? You get Robb Unfiltered. Based out of Richmond, Va., I’ll discuss my love/hate relationships with my favorite teams and how the national landscape of sports and sports media shapes how we look at sports.

So, I hope you listen. If you like it, let me know, if you hate it, let me know.
